Is there a way to set the polling interval for the Mi Flora component? I want to save some battery life by polling perhaps once every hour or so.

Agree!! Even once every 4hrs should be ample!!
The documentation seems unclear about it, but looking at the sources of the sensor and the miflora library, it looks like the relevant configuration parameter is cache (given in seconds).
