Popup notification while not connected to the network

Hello,

For my HA system I set up phone notifications for my doorbell so I still notice when someone is at the door when I’m in the attic or in the garden.
So today I was at work which is 20KM from my house and still I got the notification that someone rang the doorbell. I asked my wife and indeed the postman was at the door.

How is this possible.
I didn’t configure any external connection for my HA system and also I used my internal address to connect the HA app the my HA device.
So at this point some connection is setup and I don’t know where it comes from.

I think the only possible way would be if HA somehow still connects to some cloud-server.
Does anyone know how this would exactly work?

With kind regards Bart
