Port Forwarding

So I’m using an ASUS AC88U to which I’ve plugged an AMPLIFI Router to it to use as a sub router. How can I set up the port forwarding properly so that I can use DUCKDNS? Thanks!

You’d need to forward the ports from your Asus to the Amplifi, and then from the Amplifi to the Home Assistant system.

@Tinkerer

Sorry just to clarify, if for example my AmpliFi local IP was 192.168.1.200

Would I forward port range 443 to 192.168.1.212 local port 443 and then 8123 to 192.168.1.212 local port 8123, after which on my AmpliFi I would then forward port range 443 to my Hassio’s local IP and port 8123?

Is that train of thought correct?

Is your Amplifi acting as a router, which is what your original post implied, or is it just an access point?

I have the Asus Router as my main router, with the Amplifi plugged into to Asus router. I have certain things like my desktop plugged into the AMPLIFI and the wireless network for my home is through my AmpliFi router. I have my desktop plugged into the AmpliFi right now so that I can access my Hassio Pi.

So, do the devices connected to your AmpliFi have a different IP range than those connected to your Asus (eg, on the Asus devices get 192.168.1.x and on the AmpliFi they get 192.168.2.x) and if a device is connected to the AmpliFi you can’t reach it from devices connected to the Asus?

Yes exactly. If I plug my desktop into my Asus router, I’m unable to connect to my Hassio Pi, which is connected via wifi to my AmpliFi

Then yes, you’re in a double NAT situation, and you need to forward your port from the router to the 192.168.1.x address of the Amplifi, and then the same port from the Amplifi to the IP of your Home Assistant system.
