Hi there. I’ve just purchased a BLE Smart Lock (https://burg.biz/en/products/entry-home-5000-cyl) and I’m quite happy with it. I think it’s a great product for the price, and I’m wondering if it would be possible to integrate it within Home Assistant. I’m not that great with BLE myself sadly, but I don’t think they developed something completely new. Maybe there is another similar product or a BLE specification? I wasn’t able to find anything promising, and ESPHome doesn’t seem to have support for other BLE locks - so this makes me wonder: Is there anything to support BLE smart locks?
Hi,
i gues you need the Bridge but not sure if the bridge is able to communicate with HA.
I will let you know in som weeks if this is possible. I ordere a Burg Wächter System as well including the bridge.
Are the few weeks over? ^^
Hi,
I’m looking into buying this lock as well since it seems to have the smallest outside diameter (35mm), which would be perfect since I have a maximum clearance of 39mm for one specific door.
Any update on the compatibility with Home Assistant?
Some quick feedback for the benefit of others thinking about buying a Burg Wächter lock:
- Initial configuration of their app on Android failed. I couldn’t even register. Turns out they don’t like family names consisting of more than one part. As soon as there’s a space, you cannot register.
- The outside diameter is 35mm but they don’t mention the length (depth) of their knob. We had to remove part of the doorframe to get it to pass.
- user information (key codes) are stored on the lock itself, but only in one direction, so only one user is admin and can change things
- the bridge took a couple of tries to get connected to the app, but we never could get the door to open remotely. The app kept saying that there was nothing to open.
- Support was friendly but often didn’t really seem to read the questions and/or gave answers that were not really helpful.
After weeks of mail exchanges with their support, I gave up. Bought a Tedee Pro which I got up and running and set up in HA in about 2 hours and that includes taking out a slightly larger piece of the doorframe because it is a bit bigger.
Can anyone confirm if the Burg Wachter bridge works with home assistant?
