Possible to pause utility meter?

Hi.

I have managed to set up utility meters for my power consumption. (monthly, daily etc)
but, now to my challenge:
We are three families using our cabin.
My initial tought was to have one utility meter for each family.
start on arrival and stop when leaving the cabin.
So on year-end we could se the total yearly consumption for each family and split the power bills in a fair way.

Anyone done the same? Another approach?

Use the tariff feature of the utility meter. One tariff for each family, and one for unoccupied (to be split three ways I guess).

You will have to automate changing the tariff when families arrive / depart. Probably best done with an automation triggered on an input select that contains the list of families.
