Power on behavior - 0, 1, 2. What do these do?

Hi all,
I have some hidden light switches that run on the tuya platform which I am having some problems with, they keep turning themselves on/off randomly. I’m about to test the localtuya integration from GitHub but I’ve noticed these power-on settings which I have no idea what they do, it gives me no information other than I can select power-on behavior: 0, 1, and 2 on the device settings page in HA.

Does anyone know what each of these settings does?

You should probably seek help for localtuya here GitHub - rospogrigio/localtuya: local handling for Tuya devices

Hi Tony,

I have Tuya-based wall sockets with the same setting (via Zigbee2MQTT). In their case, it refers to what the switch does when it recovers from a power outage (mains power lost). 0 = Go On, 1 = StayOff, 2 = Previous (ie Switch to what it was before the power outage). It looks like a pretty common option on Tuya stuff but it’s always best to test first.

Keith

Thanks for the reply, I suspected these were the options, they’re currently on option 2 which kinda rules out the reason why my devices are turning themselves on/off as if I was experiencing power spikes, the lights would just flicker or at least return to their previous state.

i guess ill have to set up local tuya and block internet connectivity to the switches and see if the problem persists.

Hi Tony,

Sorry for the slow response. Yeh, it could be the cloud accessibilty acting up. I started with wifi tuya devices originally (pre tuya local days!) but all the cloud setup, broadband reliance and random internet delays got too annoying so I switched to zigbee.

So far (fingers crossed) my fixed wall sockets have been pretty rock solid, however, I do have a Tuya power sensing wall plug (TS011F style) that will quite happily turn itself off randomly. The messages I’ve read so far pin that on firmware issues so it might be worth triple-checking for updates.

Keith
