Power requirements for 2 WS2812B light strips

I am planning to run 2 of this 90W 5m led strips

and my question would be if this power adapter is enough to run both (5V 60A 300W) or should i buy 2 seperate ones.

Two times 90W is less than 300W so that should work. Just don’t forget the necessary power injections.

I was kinda hoping to avoid these… DO you think i can get away with it if i run 4 instead of 5 meters?

Then don’t even try 5V

Depending on whether you intend on running those strips in series or in parallel, you might get away with no power injection (though even in parallel and with 4m of strip, you’ll probably still get voltage drop).

The choice of a 60A power supply is way overkill for what you need, as long as you don’t intend to hook up more led strips to it in the future. The 40A 200w one is more than enough, since it gives you a 10% headroom for 10m of leds running at 90w p/m at full white. Actual power usage if you’re using another solid colour or effects will be half that (see links below).

I’d suggest reading Quinled’s excellent articles on both real-world power consumption as well as power supplies. This guy is an authority on anything led related and has loads of tutorials in both video and written form so everyone can follow along.
