I am looking for a smart power strip (European sockets) that I can:
integrate with Home Assistant and
control locally (i.e. no cloud) and
control single outlets
My smart home is built on WiFi and ZigBee, so the power strip should run on one or the other.
This is a Smart WiFi based Power Strip I found on Amazon. I read in the comments section, that it can be flashed with Tasmota, but I have never done this. So not sure if it fulfills the above, or if there are other more reliant, or cheaper options available.
The D-Link seems to be alright. Each plug is contrallable by itself and it is local, although you might need a separate app and account again to set it up. It seems to be rather expensive. I was able to find used ones starting at 60€, a new one is currently 125€ for four plugs only.
On the positive side, it seems to have consumption measurements. I appriciate your input.
So after all the link I have listed seems to fit best. It is only 33€ and can be controlled locally after flashing it with Tasmota.
I need to dig into Tasmota first a little bit to understand how it is working with home assistant.
As far as I understand it works with MQTT, so I’d need to install an MQTT Broker, which I do not have running at the moment.
Edit: It seems that once the strip runs Tasmota, it is easy to flash even EspHome. That’s great as I have already other devices running the native EspHome integration. Only issue seems to be, that Tuya Convert is no longer working and I might need to open up the power strip to connect an USB connector to flash it this way.
