Preparing Hassio failure after update

Guys,
I had my Hass.io install running for a 6 months without any problem.
However, after I have updated to the latest version 0.95 yesterday and I rebooted later that day it is now stuck on the Preparing Hass.io screen.
This now for over a day (tried multiple times with restarts)
What can I do to resolve this?

clear your browser cache - (ctrl-f5)

I have done this. No success

Then you should look at the log via ssh.
