Prerequisite for Voice Assistant PE?

I cannot for the life of me find any mention of prerequisite versions of HA / Esphome for Voice Assistant PE. I am running the latest ESPhome, but HA is 2024.2

Is this possibly why the wizard doesn’t appear when I add the device?
If so, why the heck wasn’t the correct version specified?

Also, what should I do about this? Ignore, I presume because adopt threatens to overwrite the device! Is this something that shouldn’t happen?

Any advice gratefully received!

Getting Started – Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition Read the section titled “Prerequisites”

If you aren’t using the Companion App for Bluetooth discovery your Home Assistant instance would need some type of Bluetooth proxy to discover the device and on-board it.

Since your phone has Bluetooth the Companion App is the best bet for onboarding.

I have bluetooth running on my HA RPi4 server. It sees the device, just doesn’t initiate the wizard after adding it. Am I missing something here?

Forgot to say, steps 1-6 of the “Getting Started” went perfectly. It’s just that the wizard in step 7 never appeared.

You’ll likely need to upgrade Home Assistant. Or try the newest Companion App.

That’s the conclusion that I came to. I just find it frustrating that the only prerequisites specified for the device fail to specify a minimum version for HA / Companion / ESPhome.
