I know presence detection is posted about all the time, and it can be a simple thing to implement with mobile devices etc. But what I’m trying to [efficiently] do is this:
**ive simplified the task for this question to keep things simple
Let say i have an Alexa Echo device in my front hallway that “welcomes us home” with a spoken message. If I wanted the echo to specifically know which one of us walked into the door, or if were together walking in, how would I efficiently do that? I know there are a bunch of routes that would work with Bayesian sensors, switches, Booleans, etc but i dont believe those to be the most efficient way.
Basically for the sake of simplicity here this is what I’d need:
- wife enters, and I’m not home = Welcome just wife
- Wife enters, and I’m already home = Welcome just wife as well, but dont run any “just got home automations”
- Me and wife enter at the same time = welcome us both home
I have an august lock, hallways motion sensors, wifi, and both phones with the companion app installed, along with life360. Just in case any of those help in the flow.
From that ill be able to incorporate all the automations i require.
