Hi guys,
i was wondering about how to set-up a presence detection with a NFC weareable ring or bracialet. I’m running HA 0.99.3 on a Raspberry Pi 4.
Is there a reasonable NFC reader that could send wireless information to my Raspberry?
I would like to install the reader near the main door, at the place ground (raspberry in is my studio, at the 1st).
cant help with that
i searched for it too in beginning, but dropped it , cause i found out about hass NFC
also my problem was that i needed power on the locations where i wanted a reader
Hi. I would love to do the same thing. Person detection --> alarm control with NFC ring.
I am on ios, so I can not use tags. I use gps + bluetooth for person detection and it is fine. But only if phone is charged. And if phone is dead - then NFC tag is useless too. That is why ring + mounted NFC reader seems to be more reliable solution.
In that case we need not NFC tag, but reader, witch would in some way connect to home assistant.
Anyways, I have no idea how to do that
P.S. I am ready for some soldering if there is a solution. I think it should be done with something like Node mcu or just ESP
Just wondering if you’ve checked out the new automations in iOS 13 Shortcuts? There’s an option for triggering by tapping an NFC tag, so if you use the iOS beta app, you can create a Siri shortcut and tap you NFC tag to trigger it. Still waiting for my tags to arrive but I briefly got it working using an old credit card. Unfortunately, it’s stopped triggering for some reason I can’t figure out.
Use NFC and Home app and command to interact with Home Assistant , read Nfc open a link in command and start a button in Home app. I tested and work with iOS o. iPhone
