Problem installing HA on Raspberry Pi 5

Hi,

I have a raspberry pi 5 and copied the latest HA image using the Raspberry Pi Imager to a clean 500GB micro SSD. That was fine. I then installed it into the Pi and the HA welcome to the Home Assistant command line gave details of system installation but just hangs after showing the IP address, OS Version and URLs at the ‘ha>’ prompt, what am I doing wrong? Any ideas welcome!

The cli does not respond?

Edit: can you get a response when you type at the HA> prompt:

Ha core info

Define hangs. That’s what it should look like running. Ha is headless. It should stay on the HA cli prompt then you connect through a web browser…

Hi
OK So I have HA prompt can I then change to another PC to connect via a browser as I cannot use a browser on the Pi5?

Yes. HA is a server. You connect to it over the network at the address shown on the screen. You don’t login locally. The cli is for updates config and maintenance. But once you connect remote yoj won’t even need to do that locally as long as everything is working correctly.

Many thanks I will give it a go…

I have now installed and logged-in via another PC so should be OK now. Thanks for your assistance.

Welcome to the party!

Many thanks for your assistance, much appreciated. I have a few devices up and running and have configured my dashboard - still a novice but enjoying working with HA.

I can link my iPhone14Pro into HA on my PC and Laptop and see its location and battery strength. I cannot for the life of me get HA to open up on my iPhone. After scanning I just get the error message: The internet connection appears to be offline. Error Code: NSURLErrorDomain-1009?
I used the IP of my RPi5 and correct port, but no joy! Any ideas?
