Hello dear forum users. Faced the problem of the lack of GPS track updates.
In the configuration file I registered device_tracker: ‘- platform: google_maps’. I did everything according to the instructions, after rebooting the Home Assistant, the necessary tracking devices appeared in the known_devices file and everything works, the tracking devices are displayed on the map. BUT! Not updated. Each time the Home Assistant reboots, the monitored object is updated according to the actual location and everything is not updated in the future, being in the same place only if you restart again … etc.
How to make the tracking object updated regularly?
I read about ‘device_tracker.see service’, it seems like it should help, but I can’t understand where to write it and what exactly needs to be written. Or maybe there are any other solutions? Help me please.
I believe there currently is an issue with the Google Maps device tracker. See also Google Maps Location Sharing - cookie problem starting 0.97.2
I figured out the coockie files, did everything as expected through the ‘mapscookiegettercli’. At the time of reboot, the track is displayed correctly, but is not tracked in the future.
Hi @kirillec. Could you please try out the underlying library locationsharinglib itself and report if that works as expected and updates properly? If that is the case then this is a problem with either the component or HA. If it does not, then please open an issue on the issue tracker of the library.
