Hi, I’m a HomeAssistant user and I love this system. I added a Sonoff to my configuration with firmware Tasmota and MQTT, since yesterday I have a problem.
My router sees the Sonoff connected to the wifi, but the web page does not open and does not even respond to MQTT.
The sonoff then makes the classic relay noise occasionally, but the connected device is always on.
From your description, I suppose this started happening recently.
Did you change anything on the Sonoff that might’ve caused this?
Can you ping the Sonoff IP? Do you have a fixed IP or DHCP?
Have you tried resetting Sonoff to defaults to check if it fixes it after configuring it again? Mine sometimes also doesn’t open the webpage, but MQTT seems to work still.
Whether the web UI is a bit shy or not seems to be down to the strength of wifi signal the Sonoff gets. My most distant from the router ones, outside in the garage, switched OK but were a bit hit and miss with the UI but since replacing the router for one which has much stronger wifi, the UI pops up straight away every time.
The reported signal at the Sonoff jumped from around 8% to 40% with the new one.
I solved! The problem was that the Sonoff had disconnected from the wifi, in fact it made the restart noise every few seconds. The problem was born after I added a wifi extender in the garage, I have it removed at the moment and the Sonoff works again.
I use the HQM plugin for MQTT and I noticed that every time I restart HomeAssistant I have to manually restart the addon too. It’s normal?
