i’m using home-assistant as as snap-installation on a virtual ubuntu server 20.04 (proxmox).
Everythings works fine except some USB-Devices (Zwave = Aeotec / Rfxtrx = rfxcom).
Home-Assistant can’t get access to /dev/ttyUSB0, /dev/ttyACM0, /dev/serial/by-id/usb-0658_0200-if00 or /dev/usb-RFXCOM-RFXtrx433_A11Q58HX-if00-port0 because of permissionerrors:
PermissionError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/dev/serial/by-id/usb-RFXCOM_RFXtrx433_A11Q58HX-if00-port0’
I found a hint that the user “homeassistant” should have permission to the devices. But in the snap-installation is no user “homeassistant” but 2x root-users.
Whats wrong with it ?
