Features

  • Time-based profiles

    • Create as many profiles as needed and activate them by specific time, sunrise/sunset, input_datetime, or Schedule.
    • Custom profiles can be limited to selected days of the week and define brightness and color.
    • Schedule profiles can use Additional data for brightness, color, effects, native light profiles, and other supported light settings.
    • Profiles automatically change at the next configured time while the lights remain on.
  • State-based profiles

    • Override the active Time-based profile when configured entity states match.
    • Profiles are evaluated in order, with the first matching profile taking priority.
    • Each profile can define its own brightness and color.
    • Brightness and Color can both be disabled to use a State-based profile as a temporary hold or pause, keeping the current lighting unchanged while the profile is active.
  • Transitions

    • Use a separate transition when the lights are first turned on.
    • Time-based and State-based profile changes can use separate transitions.

This started as a way to bring several lighting automations together into one flexible setup. I wanted a dynamic blueprint where profiles can be added and combined as needed, covering brightness, color, schedules, and different situations without creating a separate automation for every new lighting rule.
