I have a Sapphire projector screen (SETTS200WSF-AW) that I would like to control from Home Assistant so I can open and close the screen using automations.
The screen has a 12v trigger jack (which my projector lacks), IR receiver and an RS232 interface which is documented as follows
Never figured it out. I spoke with the manufacturer/reseller of the screen, and their own solution was too expensive for me to consider. I am sure there will be a way to get this working with an ESPHome device that can send the commands via the RS232 interface, but this is beyond me right now.
@dunxd i found out that my marantz sr6012 can send out signal via trigger out ; and also seems that panasonic pt4000 can “listen” on that signal. I has 2 trigger ports ; one can be use as output → turn on screen; other input from marantz; ie once marantz is on it will turn on projector.
My projector turns on 90% of the time through HDMI-CEC when I turn on my Apple TV. I did need to mess around with my Onkyo receiver settings to get that working and IIRC Onkyo didn’t use the term HDMI-CEC anywhere - it was called something else.
The screen on the other hand I have given up on for now. As long as the tiny remote hasn’t been mislaid I just use that.
