Proper way to show 1 year graph for a sensor

I would like to see 1 year history graphs for temperature on my HA instance, I guess setting the DB to keep 365 days is not the best approach. Should I send data to influxdb and then create a sensor to read it back into HA? Would that work?

The history card now includes long-term data, so you don’t have to set a “keep” period.

Thanks! But this depends on the card does it? Or it works even if I do not have the card on the dashboard?

The data are saved whether or not you have the card on the dashboard.
