PROWL notifications stopped working

Long standing PROWL notifications started failing today using the Home Assistant Prowl platform. I can trigger a notification directly at api.prowlapp.com. A reboot hasn’t helped.

The error I see in the log is:

Error executing script. Unexpected error for call_service at pos 2: Cannot connect to host api.prowlapp.com:443 ssl:True [SSLCertVerificationError: (1, '[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:1129)')]

Has anyone else started experiencing this issue or does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve it? Thanks.

Did you restart since yesterday? It seems they just updated their SSL certificate

I did a restart last night. After the notifications failed today I did another restart, which didn’t resolve things.

Not sure what changed, but Prowl notifications resumed a few hours later with no changes at my end.
