Hi All, I have a question which from the first glance may look stupid as it seems PTZ is better choice, but I’m not sure. I have concern is that what if both cameras will record the same person, while there was another person which was not recorded? My concern is that how do they spread the recording tasks? If 2 or 3 thief coming is there a possibility to share what they’re recording ? With regular cameras it is clear. I have installed and chosed positions, but how this happens with PTZ cameras?
Most PTZ cameras don’t move on their own unless you set them up that way (cruise mode).
The benefit of PTZ is that you can move them manually to look at a specific location if needed. Otherwise they typically stay in a fixed location.
As to which is best then it’s hard to know for your specific needs. I use both depending on where they are used.
PTZ is better only for situations where a person (security guard) is behind monitor 24/7 and he/she controls it as necesarry. In all other cases it’s better to have fixed cameras. PTZ will ALWAYS be pointed to wrong direction😩
Also fixed cameras are so much cheaper that for same amount you get quite a few fixed ones (we’re talking about decent ptz, not cheap 20€ china crap one).
