I sent a message to my parents about how great it will soon be to have a Hungarian voice assistant! They were very happy about it and asked a totally logical question: what can it do?
The website does lead to the sentences, but even for someone who understands YAML codes, it takes a lot of time to interpret the <what_is_the_class_of_name>.
My suggestion would be to allow language leaders to create tutorials, which could be accessible either on the main page under the “Other Languages Assit Guide” tab or even here: Supported Languages | Home Assistant Developer Docs
The main reason is that there are languages like Hungarian and Finnish (and surely others) where, with a bit of exaggeration, you can put words together in any order that comes to mind, and it’s nearly impossible to prepare the Assist for this. I tried to include as many ways of asking as possible, but there is still a logic to the system, and it would be good to publish these in a readable format too, similar to the English example: Assist - default sentences - Home Assistant
I would be happy to create the Hungarian language guide.
This is a great idea. I’m thinking we could put together a template that asks language leaders to produce examples for each intent slot combination.
The HassTurnOn intent, for example, can take just a name like “turn on the TV”, a name and an area like “turn on the TV in the living room”, etc. The only problem I can foresee is that intents like HassTurnOn are very broad – turning devices on, opening doors, and more. So more than one example for each slot combination may be needed.
Yes, that’s what I was thinking. If we stick to just turning on, I would describe the different ways in which you can ask for something to be turned on in Hungarian.
For example:
(kapcsol[d|j] (be|fel|föl)|(be|fel|föl)kapcsol[ás]|oltsd (fel|föl)
And since conjugation in Hungarian can be quite complex there may be a need for additional words in many cases… For example, after room names, you can say szoba / szobában / helyiség / helyiségben / helyiséget. These should also be compiled.
It’s a fact that it will involve work… I’m looking forward to the developments and if there’s an opportunity, I’ll seize the chance to write up the Hungarian language part Thank you in advance for the help.
