Pycom: manufacturer of non-working ESP devices!

Hello,

To avoid other people to be caught in that trap, I think it’s very important to report here Pycom company behavior, manufacturer of non-working ESP based devices. It’s very sad as their products look really promising but nothing works, no support and products detailed specifications can’t be found preventing you to install alternative firmware like ESPhome :frowning: . They have quite a bad history already on a crowfunding website (I won’t name crowfunding website as it’s also an swindler but easy to find) and checking history of company, it’s part of companies that don’t leave in real world (they would have disappeared very quickly) but on funds of generous sponsors… so don’t even consider their fake products that don’t work

Hope it’ll prevent other people to be caught into that,

Vincèn

Hi Vincen,

I’m facing the same issue. I’ve had a Pycom lying around for a while and decided to integrate it with ESPHome, but I’ve encountered the same problems as you mentioned.

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue in the meantime?

Hi @goof279

Unhappy I think we can bin these devices as Pycom by itself has disappeared (the were worth it doing so shitty business) but company that took over doesn’t look to continue the pycom products (https://sgwireless.com).
I have contacted them just in case but I think that all Pycom devices can go to recycle straight unhappy :frowning:
