Currently i am using HA native ZWave cpomponent in yaml configuration. Now i see also qt5-openzwave, ZWave to MQTT Hassio addon, ZWave over MQTT community integration addon etc.
I know that native ZWave uses openzwave 1.4. And guess that the others are using 1.6. In total, what do you suggest to use as of now; considering pros and cons?
Right now, Iâd wait. The official ânew zwaveâ is being worked on and will be announced when it is done. I wouldnât spend time moving things over to anything right now if your current setup is working. Moving zwave devices is a pain in my experience.
I agree with @NK553
There are two threads running at the moment fishwaldo is running both of them (as he is writting the new z-wave implementations for BOTH of them under OZW 1.6 (though from there it will be easily upgradeable to 1.8, 1.10, 1.12 etc ) )
The threadâs cover standard usage (as you have now) and MQTT usage (though a beta of that is currently available)
It depends on what other kit you have and whether you currently use (and like) MQTT - If you do then jump to MQTT now and your migration should be fairly painless when the new modules become available.
Alternatively, stick with what youâve got and that too will be a painless transition.
Try searching for threads available on the questions you have.
Edit: The underlying z-wave implementation will be the same for both, the only difference is how âyouâ wish to interact with it.
