Hey HA gurus… I had an TPlink outlet start switching on and off every few seconds. I had used a NodeRed flow for x-mas tree lights…Couldn’t figure out so thought outlet plug was bad. (have 4 others) just bought 2 pack so figured 1 of 2 was bad. bought new two pack to exchange off of amazon…
Here’s what I found.
I deleted everything for switch.tplinkoutlet5 on Kasa app
HA assigned in the core.entity_registry file a 2nd of switch.tplinkoutlet5 and HA changed to switch.tplinkoutlet5_2. The _2 registry the TPLink works fine…
I went and deleted the switch.tplinkoutlet5 in the core file and changed switch.tplinkoutlet5_2 to switch.tplinkoutlet5. TPLink started turning on and off again, so it’s not the outlet plug.
My question is, what in HA is causing or left over to make the entity switch.tplinkoutlet5 to screw up? I disabled all NRed xmas flow. I changed the switch.tplinkoutlet5 back to switch.tplinkoutlet5_2 today and no on/off random commands to switch.tplinkoutlet5_2…
I’m scratching my head
Let me know if i need to explain better
regards
Jim
