I’m looking at putting in some strip LEDs and have just recently discovered the esphome monochromatic function 
I have some 5v W2812B strip LEDs and am using WLED to drive them, works well but I want something a little bit brighter then what 5v can deliver.
My question is, do I need any specific strip LEDs to achieve the monochromatic function? Will just 2 wire led strips work or do I need 3 wire stips?
