Questions about Matter vs Tuya Cloud implementation in Home Assistant

Greetings everyone. I have some questions regarding the implementation of Matter compared to Tuya Cloud in Home Assistant, and I would greatly appreciate your help and guidance.

My current setup

  • I’m running Home Assistant on a virtual machine in my Synology NAS.
  • Approximately 90% of my devices are Tuya brand.
  • Currently, I have these devices connected to Home Assistant using Tuya in Cloud mode.
  • Recently, I acquired a new Tuya HUB that’s compatible with Matter (model: Tuya Matter Hub).
  • I’ve managed to configure this HUB in Matter (BETA) in my Home Assistant, and all devices appear and function correctly.

My questions

  1. What are the main differences between using the devices through Matter compared to Tuya Cloud, as I’m doing currently?

  2. If Matter operates on LAN and the devices are already detected and working in my Home Assistant, why do they disappear from both Matter and Tuya when I remove a device from Tuya?

  3. What specific advantages would I gain by using the devices through Matter instead of continuing to use them with the Tuya app as I do now?

I would greatly appreciate your comments and experiences on this matter. If you need more information or screenshots, I’d be happy to provide them.

Thank you in advance for your help!
