I setup locatin tracking using OwnTracks and it is working. I am also trying to get BTLE working using iBeacons. I have am iBeacon setup in OwnTracks, and it is posting data to my MQTT broker. However, the status is not being picked up by HASS. I suspect it is because I need a corresponding Zone file. My question is, since the data is based on the presence of an iBeacon, how do I indicate that in the Zone file? I only see options for LAT and LON, but how do I indicate the UUID of the iBeacon or its name in the Zone file?
You need to assign the same name to the iBeacon region and the zone.
Also turn on the share-Option for the beacon region.
The rest happens automagically
See https://home-assistant.io/components/device_tracker.owntracks/ under “Using Owntracks regions”.

Hmmm…thats what I thought too, and thats what I thought I did. Maybe I’ve got a type somewhere that I missed.
Thanks, I’ll check it out again tonight.
