Quick question about Fibaro in wall switch

Hi guys,

I do have a quick question about a fibaro in wall switch.
i do have a lamp that is controlled by 3 switches (dont ask me why… i got the house like this) and another lamp that is controlled by 2 different switches (traditional up stairs / down stairs setup).

If I use 1 fibaro relay switch (like the FGS-222) can i properly control the lamp in both cases? that means, if i turn the “non-smart” switch on and off, will HA properly identify the status (on/off) of the lamp? will the 3 switches setup work in the same way?
or should i buy 1 fibaro sensor for EACH switch to make it “smart”?

thanks for any help!

Luis

Hi, good question

I’ve been thinking about the same thing. I have lamp controlled by 4 switches.

So in theory if you have more than 2 switches, it must be a “Cross-circuit” (dont know it this is the right word in english). In your case, there must be 2 “normal” switches and in the middle a Cross-Switch. The easiest way is to put the Fibaro switch behind the “normal” switch witch is the nearest to the lamp. And you need L and N (the black and blue cable) for the Fibaro, that can be a problem.

Cross-circuit

Probably this will work without problems but I dont think, that the Fibaro switch recognizes if you switch on/off the two other switches.

And to do this with a fibaro for each switch is not possible because of the “cross-switch”. Then its more easy to by one fibaro switch and 2 Zwave wall switchs
