R60A mmWave Radar Heart Rate and Respiration Monitoring (MR60BHA1)

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an MR60BHA1 (aka R60A) module from AliExpress (also sold by Seeedstudios online) and now realize I can’t find anybody who has tackled EspHome integration for this module. Seeedstudio has arduino documentation link but I don’t have the expertise to integrate this into an ESPhome setup (and don’t know I’d actually be able to get the Arduino code up and running due to limited experience). I’d really like to get this set up for bed presence detection and HR/RR tracking during sleep.

As I can’t find any other information or evidence of prior usage, I am opening this thread to see if anybody is able to provide assistance or has used this module. Any input appreciated!

By now you’ve likely worked something out… I had this same scenario, purchasing the module before working out how I would actually integrate it into Home Assistant but managed to refine two methods of integration with some helpful tips and hints from others. I searched high and low for a comprehensive ESP based HA integration and to my knowledge, the one I created is the only one. Happy to share, it doesn’t handle the sleep monitoring info but I feel that could be added, there are bytes you must send to the radar module to enable this.
