It would be cool to have a vpn option in the radio browser so that radio station that are not available in some parts of the world are made available locally.
A vpn connection requires a server to connect to in the area that the radio station is available in.
It would be a huge task to maintain all those servers.

If I use a VPN service on my phone to connect to a radio station. Why would it not be possible to connect the ingration through that same service?
The program on your phone is probably made some provider of VPN relays.
The program will only connect to that provider’s servers and the program will most likely be closed software, so the provider can show ads or charge for the service.
exactly so if I use my paid service I should be able to get the radio stations of the locations I have setup.
The keywords here is “closed software”.
You need an opening to interface with the VPN from an integration.
