Raspberry Pi 3 as a Bluetooth proxy

I want to increase the Bluetooth range of Home Assistant to control an IKEA Idasen Desk and a SwitchBot. I already have a Raspberry Pi 3 near these devices because the Raspberry Pi 3 runs a print server.

I know there is Bluetooth Proxy — ESPHome.

However, I would like to use the hardware I already have before purchasing an ESP32.

Is there a way to use a Raspberry Pi 3 as a Bluetooth proxy for Home Assistant?

Hi! i’m in a very similiar situation to you. Did you have any progress with it?

thanks

unfortunately not

Why don’t you just put another home assistant instance on the spare PI and use remote homeassiatance from HACS. It will send the sensors from the bluetooth sensors to your main HA. I haven’t used it in a couple of years but that’s exactly what I did before.
