Raspberry pi 5 or something else?

Well, I’ve been using a Raspberry Pi 3 to manage all my smart bulbs—about 10 Hue, 20 Wiz, and 20 Tuya.

With this Raspberry Pi, I was able to handle simple routines like switching lights on/off, but every time I tried to add support for my security cameras, Ring devices, Eufy devices, or anything else, it just didn’t work. (even removing logs, record etc)

Given that, I’d like to ask for your opinion. Would a Raspberry Pi 5 be the best option for this kind of usage (regular home control with some cameras)? Or do you suggest something else?

I’d prefer not to spend more than USD 200 unless you think the Raspberry Pi 5 won’t be able to handle around 6 cameras.

Hi Sergio Bazilio,

If you are adding cameras, look at the Beelink N100 line. Better GPU and CPU, still in the price range. No SD card to deal with, takes an NVME or a Coral if you want to use it where the Pi won’t. Etc, Etc.

Thank you, I was not aware of this mini PC. Looks like really better hardware in the same price lvl.

Thank you!
