Raspberry Pi and Eero 6 difficulty accessing UI

Hi I’m trying to find help getting home assistant up and running on a raspberry pi 4. I can’t seem to access the welcome UI when accessing “http://homeassistant.local:8123/” when my raspberry pi is plugged into the Eero.

I am able to access the HA UI when I plug it into my at&t modem, but none of my smart devices like tp-link and chromecasts are on that network, so when I try to scan my devices, nothing shows up.

So I’m assuming I have to have my raspberry pi HA instance connected to my Eero for it to find my smart home devices. Sorry if this is the wrong assumption. This is my first time working with networking and servers and such.

Did you try http://IP:8123, where IP is the ip-address when connected to the Eero ?

Hi thanks for responding. I just tried it an no it doesn’t work. I’m getting the error "This site can’t be reached [IP] took too long to respond.

I also noticed, when my HA is connected to the Eero, on the iPhone HA app while it is scanning for servers I am able to see a Home server, but with a different IP address than shown in the Eero app. I’ve tried, both IP addresses and that didn’t work either.

Other things I’ve tried:

  • Putting my AT&T modem to “IP passthrough” mode set to the MAC address of my Eero.
