I have a Raspberry PI mounted to a Raspberry PI 7" touch display that is set-up as a kiosk on my wall. That spot just happened to be a perfect place for a Temperature - Humidity sensor. I decided to build a home assistant auto-discovery sensor software platform to make use of it.
The rest of the info is on the Blog post, didn’t want to duplicate it here. Let’s just say I used some simple python scripting, little bit of shell, some YAML, and MQTT to install sensors in some Raspberry PI’s and auto-Discover it into Home Assistant.
