I recently became interested in Home Assistant, since I found out, that it is possible to sync data from Fitbit, Garmin, Polar (buggy), Strava to Home Assistant, which is great. Why then not to choose Home Assistant for all sensor data which I am interested in, was the question I asked myself.
So I put the options together for these.
These are:
-
ANT+ sports sensors (heart rate, speed, cadence, core temperature, etc.)
-
Bitalino low-cost Biomedical Toolkit (heart rate ECG, EEG brainwaves, EMG muscle contraction, and many more sensors)
-
The WIFI shield from OpenBCI (Biosensing for Everyone) supports MQTT, which should allow to stream 8 sensors in parallel
-
ECG sensor conected to a Rasperri PI with MQTT
For all these projects, there are Rasperri PI projects available. I have put them together on my personal website:
I usually don t code, as you can see on my GITHUB site, and I probably will not have time to integrate these sensors into Home Assistant in near future. But I am very interested in this integration project, and I will stay with it.
If someone is intersted in these sensor Rasperri PI projects, hopefully my reviews might be helpful for those.
