Reading water consumption with homeassistant

Hi
i have that kind of counter for the water
i would like to read the consumption in HA

Today i tried to put a proximity sensor with an wemos D1 mini and esphome.
I didn’t receive any pulse. Then i tried with a magnet on my proximity sensor , in this case pulse are received.

I really would like to read my water counter in HA
Please , advise me

If the proximity sensor does not work (can’t help with that, sorry) there are other ways:

• Image detection: ESP32-Cam on your water meter with "AI-on-the-edge" -- also for gas and power meters - YouTube
• Many manufacturers have adapters for remote reading (e.g. through wMBus) that you can integrate with HA

I personally decided it’s not worth the effort and I collect the data manually once per month.
