Reboots & Incomplete Journals

Surprised there is not a general support category as my issue is not a blog, has nothing to do with configuration, installation, hardware or anything of the other categories, imho so here goes:

First off, a preemptive Thank you! to anyone reading and or commenting on this issue.

History: HA user for about 2 years and for the most part it has been in a “leave it alone, its working great” state.

Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 running HAOS with Z-Wave & Zigbee dongles

Overall issue: A few months ago HA started rebooting itself randomly every day. Anywhere from 2 to over 20 times throughout the day.

Current roadblock: The pre-reboot Journal is incomplete offering no info. It just stops. If there should be a journal before a shutdown is not being created.

TLDR: HA keeps rebooting and I have no means of learning why.

Thank you to everyone reading this.

sd-card or disk ? , disk-space available ?

next step: try to unplug your usb devices/dongles (see if it gets as far as “complaining” about it )

I have swapped dongles already. If I could read the journal then I am sure I would be able to pinpoint it but the lack of journals is killing me

well, i like your “classic” system-view, miss it abit, and haven’t had time to setup something like that again

Have you tried with, starting without any dongles, and do you have external ssd ??
Maybe your powersource can’t handle the load

Nothing in the Logs ? , tried enable Debug in Logger ?

No, logs dont have anything and the journals are not complete. That’s the whole roadblock I am looking to fix. Soon as I know why the journals are not complete I can fix that and then look at the journals as to why the crash is happening.

Any particular reason why you refuse/avoid answering my “questions” in regards to your storage-media ?
As you seems to be able to start it, and run it, i would enable debug ( which you haven’t answered, or “provided” ), And as you also seems to have a “time line” and can run your HA instance, i would “Restore” from backup, past “few” month ago

Thanks for the reading and seeing your nice system-resource View

BTW: You didn’t either “commend” in regards to your power-source

Good luck, ps: dont stay up to long, wondering about your “journals”, i doubt you get an answer that way ( And you already mentioned them 3 times )

I had a similar issue due to having added USB devices to the RPi - the power supply was only just adequate, but with the extra draw from USB it couldn’t cope, leading to random reboots.

No was just derping. I thought the screenshot gave you the answer. My b.

I use a 128GB SD

Power source, case, keyboard, mouse, etc are all original RPi branded items. Thats all I know on the power source. I dont mind trying a hub tho to take off some of the power draw.

Ya, I don’t think that power is the issue.

Tried adding USB dongles to a powered hub. Reboots.
Tried a larger adapter (65w). Reboots.
Tried my Thunderbolt 4 port with a TB4 cable ranked at 100w. Reboots.
