Recent Update Added "Basic" entity to Every Z-Wave Light

A recent update added a generic “Basic” entity to every Z-Wave light switch and battery-operated sensor. (see photo).
The anomaly only affects Z-Wave devices. The unwanted renaming of devices has caused errors in every automation linked to these entities. Any idea what caused this?
I’m using a Zooz 700 stick and running Z-Wave JS UI 9.3.1

New "Basic CC" entity

After updating HA Core to 2023.11.0, all of my z-wave light switches now have an extra “Basic” entity. E.g., my “Hall Light” now also has a “Hall Light Basic”. My lights are GE 14294 / ZW3005 (dimmers) and 14291 / ZW4005 (switches). A few other zwave devices also got them. I.e., my ring door sensors (4SD2SZ-0EN0), and some motion sensors, etc… it might actually be all og my zwave devices? Not sure. It is not clear to me what this “Basic” thing is, or what I might use it for. For the light…

Lots of sensors (flood, motion etc) now have a dimmer parameter.. WTF?

Maybe its 2023.11 update, but I now have a multitude of non-light sensors with dimmer setting parameters. These are really screwing my “light on” counts etc and also giving the sensor the wrong icons. Not sure wtf is going on. Any ideas?

Basic Command Class

I saw this in the release notes for today (under zwave accordion) and now see these ‘lights’ but don’t understand what they are. They appear to have dimmer functionality through the UI but my lights aren’t dimmers. What’s is the purpose of these controls? I checked the Zwave doc but didn’t find an explanation there.
