I have Homeassistant 8.4 installed on a Pi that I’ve had for years. I recently upgraded from TP Link M9plus mesh routers to Eero Pro6E. I mirrored the password and network id, and when I switched certain integrations/devices seamlessly kept working and some did not.
Working:
MyQ Garage Door
Zigbee (phillips lights and iTead/eWelink temp sensors)
Not Working
TP Link/Kasa switches
eWeLink Wifi switches
Hacs (might be unrelated, can’t update version)
Wiz Phillips Wifi bulbs
Has anyone had this issue and do they know why the wifi specific integrations (some, not all) may be blocked by the new Eero routers? It displays a no devices found error when adding the integration.
In the changes you have made, is your network now using a different DHCP server? If so then it may have issued new IP addresses to the devices that are now not working. HA may still expect to find the devices at ‘old’ IP addresses.
I should have explained my setup. My HA Pi is plugged into the cable modem, and the mesh routers are plugged into the cable modem as well. In both the old and new mesh router setups, this was the case. So it was working this way before. I’m not a network person, so I don’t know the answer to the DHCP server, but I changed nothing on the cable modem and have a reserved IP for the Homeassistant server on that that hasn’t changed. Which router/modem with the server have changed on that I should check?
I suspect you may need to get Home Assistant to rediscover the items but, as I’m not familiar with these integrations, I’m not sure what this will involve.
I’ve had another thought. Does your new mesh wi-fi network have any settings that prevent communication between devices on your network? Sometimes there are settings for Guests which only allow connection to the internet and nothing on the local network.
I wound up connecting to the mesh wifi nodes directly, and it found all the devices. It work via remote access as well. A bit of a workaround but hey, did the trick.
How did you connect directly to the nodes? I installed an eero mesh network earlier this year. I lost the ability to connect to Roku devices and WLED but never really thought much about it. Recently started poking around at the issue again because I can’t get Shelly relays that I just installed to connect.
