I know, that Philips has the Occuswitch occupancy sensor 24V version, which is ceiling mount, but not shure, if it is possible to use outside of a Philips system. If I understand the shitty Philips docs properly, it is Zigbee Pro…
Thank you. Had a look at that and as you say thr Zigbee / Philips protocol isnt clear. Im not even sure they sell that model anymore, particularly 24V.
I have seen some quite good products from Faradite and also CP Electronics designed for agnostic home automation systems, but there is a significant price hike.
Hi, could I suggest using an alarm-type PIR (12v) with logical output (relay output not needed) and a Shelly Uni together. That would meet your requirements and is programmable via the Shelly interface.
The Uni is a smart implant device ideally suited to this job. It’s typically stable down to about 7v DC in simple switching configurations.
Yes I did look at alarm system PIRs. Thank you for the suggestion.
A corner-mount 12V or 24V device would have worked but I was looking for recessed ceiling mount which are still very expensive.
I am now just waiting for a 240V AC recessed PIR and a Sonoff ZBMINIL, so will try that combination soon. Its not ideal at all, but may be the only way forward particularly with the PIR market being dominated by 240V AC models, making this probably a more sustainable solution long term. I was also looking for a wired signal rather than wireless, so if Zigbee doesnt perform Ill used a solid state relay (no noise).
Thanks, yes the sensor is very neat and is deployed in almost all Velbus installations at some point.
If only because it is so adaptable
Sorry I didn’t register this part of your inital post.
The answer to that is “no”, not even close.
Technically, no, MDAR is the UK importer, we distribute to resellers and installers across the country.
But we do sell directly to installers if there isn’t a distributor in their area.
