Recommendation for cameras and NVR software

I’m looking for outdoor security camera recommendations (along with software)
Here are some requirements:

  1. Software must be open source. I’m looking at ZoneMinder and I see it integrates with HomeAssistant.
    Are there other suggestions which work without any hassle with home assistant
  2. Cameras shouldn’t need internet connection to work / configure. They will be connected on LAN without internet access. They should be rated for outdoor, it would be good if they come with light integrated (for night) or if they have way to record in dark. PoE support is even better.
  3. Are there any doorbell solutions? I’m looking at Fully Offline Video Doorbell for Home Assistant - Amcrest AD110

Most of the recommendation posts or info I’ve found are from around 2021, wanted to see if there is updated info available which I missed.

I have amcrest and turned OFF LEDs
These camera have excellent low light performance. If you have any light(moonlight is enough) you will get good image. LED light usually allow 20sqft area view extremely well at sacrifice to further range. Inpojnt this out as recommendation to test which is best (lED on or off) for each camera location.

Perfect choice. I never use that model but I presume its decent

for POE doorbell look at Reolink or Dahua VTO.

I was going over products and there are so many options, I guess I’ll need to spend some more time figuring out what’s needed

what is main difference between Dome and Bullet cameras? Is it just installation (as long as features are exactly same On ceiling vs on wall)?

Typically your Dome type cameras are ones that rotate where as the bullet style are normally just forward pointing. Although you can have a pretty good size Field of View with a bullet camera they don’t rotate like many dome ones do.
