Recommendations for an outside temperature / humidity sensor (UK)

Recommendations for an outside temperature / humidity sensor that would work with HA. NOT bluetooth as device hosting HA doesn’t have support.

Thank you

Could I use a Tapo T310 with a Tapo H100 or H200 hub?

You can achieve BLE support with esphome proxy module. Then you can use xiaomi thermo/hygro sensors ( LYWSD03MMC). I have a bunch of them and they work wonderfull (after you change it’s fw).

I am running HA on a Synology NAS which works well for me, but means I don’t have bluetooth support and can’t add it via USB as synology doesn’t see it - hence really needing a wireless / wi-fi solution

Mentioned esphome proxy adds BLE support via esphome’s wifi, that’s the point. You don’t need any BT USB dongle:

Basically, esphome module receives BLE info and passes it to Ha via wifi. But esp32 is required.

Okay, I understand now, will take a look - thanks

I used to have a bunch of BME280, SHT3x… sensors around rooms, outside… but each of them requires it’s own esp module and of course, power supply and at the end you end up with tons of wifi modules, wires, psu’s…
Then i discovered these little things, they are great - very accurate, with FW modification they easily work outside with low temps. Only downside of using outside is somewhat shorter battery life (CR2032), but here with temps around 0, down to -5 (C) last through the winter, so it’s not a big deal. And they are cheap .
Now i just made a couple of proxies in and around my house to ensure all xiaomi’s are in range.
