I’ve been tinkering around with some BLE temperature/humidity sensors and using cheap ESP32 devices as ad-hoc receivers. This approach works fine but I know there are some dedicated alternatives that could simplify my setup.
What can you recommend for a centralized Bluetooth Low Energy receiver that is compatible with Home Assistant? Anything to watch out for?
EDIT: To add on to my original post - I’m planning a new installation of Home Assistant on a HA Yellow device. If you were building one of these yourself, which Bluetooth adapter would you choose?
Are the ones with external antenna significantly better?
