Hi everyone,
I’m currently renovating an old half-timbered house with 3.80m high ceilings and I’m looking to install presence sensors on the ceiling. I need sensors that can be directly connected to power (either 220V or lower voltage via doorbell wire). The goal is to integrate these presence sensors with Home Assistant to control lighting when someone is present and activate the alarm system when the space is unoccupied.I’m specifically looking for hardware recommendations that meet these criteria:
- Can be ceiling-mounted
- Hardwired power connection (220V or low voltage)
- Reliable presence detection in a high-ceiling environment
- Compatible with Home Assistant (ZigBee)
- Long sensor range due to the ceiling height
Has anyone had success with a particular sensor model or brand for a similar setup? I’m open to various technologies like mmWave, PIR, or others as long as they’re effective for my use case.Any tips on installation, configuration, or integration with Home Assistant would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!
