Hi, i have a HA Docker running on my Synology NAS and stm i play with esp32 and dht22 with mqtt and everything looks promising.
At my Home i have the so called “Neubaurolläden” with common hand driving.
If i want to switch to a motorized Version of the shutter or better the shutter motor, wich ones are nice for HA integration?
What i don’t want is to buy a lot of this overpriced SMART Home components like a special BOX with the center running on or a lot of IR stuff.
I’m limited in the way that i can get 1 power cable there, but no special cable for commanding the shutter, so i would have to use IF or WLAN.
Someone recommended Somfy IO to me. In these Forum i found only 2 Topics about them.
And on youtube i read somewhere that their Technology is somhow old and sensitive against interferences.
I’m more the maker type user that wants to control everything if needed in detail and not the “buy everythingh from apple and don’t want something of the mainstream and everythings fine” type.
Maybe someone (from Germany) has some experiences?
I am planning of using a Sonoff 4ch Pro. I chose it over the 2ch or the 4ch standard because It has a different configuration of the relays and it can be wired in a way that it is mechanically impossible to activate both the Up and Down wires and break the motor.
At less than 20 eur it is the right price point for me. If you have two shutters near each other you can control both with one sonoff, at 10 eur each window it is a bargain…
As an added safety I bought a roller shutter motor with electronic end stops, even if the sonoff break and keep one output active, the motor will stop in the upper or lower position without overheating.
ok .
I’ve already installed not some shutters , but external window persiana .
they are installed already with motor , that stops at the end and at beginning , so no harm.
I was thinking in a ESP8266 to control a couple of relays but the sonoff with 2 hangs would be ok.
I’m still searching for the best (easy) solution , as dont want to burn nothing
cheers and good luck!
thank you.
the Broadlink with RF was not something I was intend to introduce.
I’m more in the WIFI path with some sonoffs 2 gang.
will try this in the next months …
