Recommendations for Zigbee-Compatible Blinds, Curtains, or Shades

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to integrate some new blinds, curtains, or shades into my smart home setup, and I’d love to get your recommendations! Specifically, I’m interested in options that work well with Home Assistant and use the Zigbee protocol.

If you’ve had good experiences with any particular brands or models, please share your thoughts. I’m especially interested in hearing about:

  • Ease of integration with Home Assistant
  • Reliability and performance
  • Any additional features or benefits
  • Price and value for money

The Ikea blinds work perfectly with zigbee2mqtt (probably also with the HASS builtin zigbee stack, but I can’t vouch for that).

Had great results with roller motors from Zemismart; here’s one example but they have a number of models (size/voltage/solar, etc .)

directly supported via Z2M (make sure you get the ZigBee version) just added 2 simple scripts for setting limits and motor direction.

3 units running reliably for 3yrs+

Remote not required, unless you want a backup/dumb controller.

Good value for money

It may require some DIY to retrofit the roller blinds and bring power to the motors (unless you use the solar powered units; I personally prefer to limit the number of battery powered devices)

Less time to deploy = more time to build custom sliders for the dashboards :grinning:
