Recommended 1 / 2 gang switches for new zigbee install

Good evening,

I have a couple Shelly devices, but I would prefer to move everything into ZigBee since everybody says how great it is…

So I ordered a ZigStar UZG (now that I read a bit more, maybe a SonOff would have been cheaper and do exactly the same…), but I can’t really find many Zigbee 2 gang switches/relay modules made for 230V besides the Moes and Tuya ones on AliExpress. And if there are shutter specific modules I would also like some recommendation for those.

Are those devices reliable? Or is there a better brand that makes EU centric hardware, most that I find is very US centric.

And is it possible to run open source firmware on those ZigBee devices, or since they only run on zigbee no one really makes firmware for them?

Best regards.

I cannot provide anything insightful (except for being a Shelly user), but I just read this post. You might want to follow it and check out the recommendations there.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I’m looking for the smart switches that are mounted behind the regular wall switches, like this:

Yeah, they’re still working after a few years now.
Pretty good option if you don’t have neutral

There’s also aqara T1/T2 if you need additional features like power monitoring and detach relay

For open source zigbee firmware, you can have a look at this
