Reconfiguration of Alexa media player not possible

You also using the “Build in 2FA” Method of AMP (Alexa Media Player)?

Also there was an Update now in HACS, did you already do it?

I clicked on … reload a couple of times and it’s working again.
But it’s a pain to have to go through this every few days.

i just updated to 2022.9.0.

then i deleted all integrations of Alexa Media Player
restarted, rebooted host.

then disabled 2FA in Amazon.

then reenabled 2FA in Amazon
then added Alexa Media Player
the whole procedure of token and things

and IMMEDIATELY after finishing the integration, after assigning the devices to the rooms - BOOOOM
Reconfiguration needed…

Rebooted HA… and AGAIN…

its time to crush that shh… Alexa Devices and buy something good i guess.

i also now clicked on reload 5 times and the reconfigure is gone…

tested an automation with alexa notification, that worked.
but i didnt test the rest. because i already altered my automations to ifttt.

i think i let that be like this now.

EDIT:
Updated Supervisor, rebooted… and now AGAIN…
Its not solved.

Same here. I used to have to reauthenticate occasionally but for the last few days it’s been several times a day.
The Notification I get says

Relogin required after 4:07:46.781212 and 153 api calls.

I don’t know what that means but someone might.

Also, why is this site telling me the problem is solved at post 6? Or is that a different problem?

Updating to the latest version (4.12) appears to have solved this issue (or in any case it has reduced the frequency!)

It means you have something that triggers a lot of calls on Alexa.

Maybe you have an Automation, which calls something on Alexa, e.g. “turn off light” or so.
I had too many calls → which by the way also leads to a reauth @ElMaquinista , when i had a “Alexa-Light” and a “HASS-Light” combinded and the “Hass-Light” kept loosing connection.
Everytime it got back up, it fired the automation and Alexa was told to turn off the Light.

I also think its the smartest way to get away from “non-directly-HASS-controllable-Devices”, but if you have like me a LED Strip which is Smart (but not for HASS  ) and you dont want to install a different one…well…

I guess u could switch it with a HASS-Switch…

I would just give it a little time and look for some updates.

Problem is that my wife is blind and we started off with Alexa this may, then later on we added Philips Hue and later HA. Now i found that Siri shortcuts can do some things too. And the audio feedback is essential for her. So Alexa talking was the thing for her. So i wrote some own skills to speak out things. This week i found out that Siri shortcuts also can get data from HA and speak it out. Now i plan to move away from Alexa and do it with Siri instead. BUT i would like to have a speaker making announcements somewhere in the apartment. What can i use instead of Alexa Bowls?

And we got quite some Alexa devices.
Echo Studio, Show, Dot, Normal ones and the Sub.
I may need to sell them soon.

If you just need basic spoken notifications HA can do that in a variety of ways. I’m not even sure I could begin to describe them all and it’s kind of out of the scope of this thread but message me or start a new thread and tag me if you want to talk more on the matter. A good one I use is the HA app notification. The way this is set up it will speak the notification. If it isn’t loud enough attach a cheap prepaid phone or old unused phone/tablet to an external speaker! lol
