Recently my raspberry pi which was running home assistant in docker developed a fault that is causing the system to constantly reboot. I’ve tried to fix this without luck and so I need to flash a new sdcard. My home assistant had some custom components such as for Rointe and so I would like to create the same setup as before. I have a backup tar and so if I install a new home assistant setup would the backup tar be enough for a full recovery? Alternatively, I can still read the docker data volume for home assistant from my old so card. Can I simply overwrite the home assistant data volume on a clean install with my old volume to fully recover my system? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Tony
Hi, welcome to the forum.
If you have a backup you can upload that when onboarding on a new installation.
Thanks Nick! Will try the backup. Tony
